Studio24 Nigeria: Running a National Retail Chain From One Platform

The Challenge

Studio24 Nigeria is a photography and imaging retail chain with branches from Lagos and Abuja to Kano, Kaduna, Jos, Port Harcourt, Enugu and Uyo. Running a chain at that spread means every branch needs to sell, price and count stock the same way — and head office needs to see all of it without waiting for anyone to send a spreadsheet.

Before Odoo, every branch wrote its sales into physical books by hand. Those entries were then keyed into spreadsheets, sent in to head office, and typed a third time into QuickBooks. The chain's numbers ran days behind the trading that produced them, and month-end reconciliation across every branch was a job nobody looked forward to.

The website was a separate problem again — built in WordPress, disconnected from everything the business actually ran on.

The Approach

Odoo was implemented as a single system across the whole chain: point of sale at every till, shared inventory across branch storerooms and a central store, one product catalogue, and accounting that receives every branch's trade automatically rather than by re-entry.

The website moved onto the same platform. The public site and the system behind it are no longer two things to keep in step — a product, a price or a page is changed once.

Silicon Streets hosts and manages the platform on its own Kubernetes infrastructure — redundant storage, nightly backups, TLS, version updates and restores handled as part of the service, so Studio24's team runs the business rather than the servers.

The Result

No more physical books. No more re-keying the same sale three times. Month end now closes from figures that are already in the system, because they arrived there as the sales happened.

Five years of continuous trading on the same platform, across a footprint that has grown to thirty-four tills in more than a dozen cities. New branches join the system rather than needing one of their own.

That span has included real infrastructure incidents — storage recovered after the loss of a server node, and a full recovery after a platform failure. On that occasion Studio24 was trading again within the hour, across every branch.

That is not a number on a service agreement. It is what happened on a working day to a chain with thirty-four tills and customers already at the counter.
